I want to here what you have to say about the game. I want to hear about the good and bad. Include what you thought of the field also.

best game of the year so far. the pans kick butt. it was good to play with people like that. A mixture of all paintball style.
great game.
the terrain was rough but we need challenges. Late start no biggie cause I was late getting there. areas of danger were marker clearly. the red base was kinda hard to find with only the piece of orange around it.

I was late so the late start was no bad thing. Of course I would have preferred to be on time and start on time. From what I saw of pantballers that is not too likely to happen any time soon! Even if we had started on time I doubt we would have had the time or the energy to complete all 5 missions. The terrain was rugged and just crossing it seemed to make people tired. Running and shooting quickly finished the job for most of us. The missions were well thought out even though some unforseen things cropped up. Somebody spent a lot of time planning the game and preparing the field. Don't be shy about charging some $ to partiicipate. It would have been well worth the entry fee. If you never see any return for all your time and effort, we may stop seeing games of this caliber.

My biggest complaint is that I spent a lot more time getting shot than shooting others.

Here is my PDF and game critique!
Organization, organization organization!!! It makes all the difference. I never really figured out who my squads and teams were. I wanted to set a clear chain of command and set leader designations. I should have been Red. Squads would have been Red 1, Red 2, Red 3 and Red 4. Just having that would have allowed better command and control of the field. Squad leaders would have been those with the most experience and I would have placed my weaker elements in positions where they were most effective and least likely to lose missions for us.
Since I lacked good organization I had to depend heavily on my squad leaders taking the initiative. This both helped and hurt. We should have won the first mission. The initial defense of red base was great! My inexperience on the field and in paint ball in general allowed us to lose swing base and then red base. I could certainly have mounted a better defense of swing. Red would never have come into question if we had held swing. Sending out single man ambush patrols to hide and then come in behind an attacking force was the trick of the day. The red base defenders used it very effectively. It would have been a great trick at swing. Ambushing an attacking force from behind while they are attacking their objective is devastating. They don' even know they are being hit from behind until it's too late!
The second mission was a real PITA. Boxes scattered over a large rugged area with very limited visibility and narrow lanes of fire made it a real grind. We still did better than I thought we would thanks to Dreckmore pulling out the third box right at the bell. Payne felt sorry for us too so he gave us the points.
The third mission was weighted heavily in our favor. I sent out the prison guards and immediately reinforced them once the horn blew. It worked well. The prison guards rebuffed the US assault on swing base and held on to the prisoners for the required 20 minutes. Defending the ammo dump was easy. We had all the advantages. Entrenched positions, lines of fire, high ground, knowledge of the area and a prepared defending force. The US forces never stood a chance at the tubes.
We should not have been allowed to highjack the explosive charges. The entire explosive charge thing was unfair although Gary did not realize it at the time. The ammo dumps should have been scattered more and the US forces should have been able to take them out with a grenade. It should have been something they did not have to drop if they were shot out. They had two disadvantages in having to get to the tube as well as having to get an explosive charge to the tube. In terrain like that, even if you can go back and pick up an item where you drop it, you are most likely never to see it again. Fixing the explosive issue would have fixed this mission and put it squarely back into an attack/defend scenario.

In the first mission you had myself along with 4 others cover blue base. we were suppose to make contact and fall back to swing. when the came started i could hear the other team talking about all going to red and swing. so my squad at blue got bored and we split. 2 stayed at blue and 3 went to red base. I can say with you guys fighting the usa team from the front and the 3 of us hitting them from the back we killed lots of usa teammate. I killed 7 people there. at one point there was a like of 15 blue team leaving at one time. I even had a blue player walk up on me to 25feet before he saw my teammate red flag then he died.
on the hostage game with medic being near we held the blue team at bay. i was part of the back up defenses and my squad did great. only wish i would have brought more paint. i went thru 5 pods and hopper there alone.

I think overall the game was a success. The field still needs alot of work but we got it in the best shape we could with what little time and little help we had.
Before the game even started I knew we would have a hard time winning. I realized that we had about 10 newbies on our team and they weren't the most aggressive guys. They weren't wearing cammo either and at our field cammo helps alot. I also noticed the Panamanian team had alot more fast markers than we did. I also noticed the Red base was a bitch to get to. We had to either go through a thinned out area with small trees and very little cover or we had to go through that big dry creekbed which was a death trap. lol
Even with all this against us we gave it our all and had a BLAST. My team faught hard but just never got in a groove against the well oiled machine of the Red team.
During the last game I had my men move South because we were going to come up on the high ridge on the East side of that big dry creekbed. That way we would have high ground overlooking the Red base so it would be like shooting fish in a barrel. To our dismay the Panamanian general predicted this and put several men on that ridge to wait for us. As we crept through the trees and brush almost giggling at the slaughter we were about to rain down on them we were met with great resistance. I couldn't believe they were there waiting for us. I just wanted to VOMIT. lol. As they kept our attention a few more of them flanked us and came up behind us and that was that. That was a great move General. My hat goes off to you.
By 4:00 I was so exhausted I could barely stand. I had to leave quickly because I had crap at home to deal with.
Anyway, I can't wait for next year so we can do this all over again. By next year the field will be in MUCH better shape with more bunkers and better paths and the poison ivy will be marked with signs.
Thank you to everybody that came out especially Gary for all his hard work. I'd also like to thank Steve for selling HPA, CO2, and paint. Guss for selling hotdogs and letting me have some for free. Robert, Mitch, and Gator for helping me work on the field in the heat. I also want to thank the guys that helped work on the field the day of the game. I didn't catch your names but I REALLY appreciate your help.

One thing I thought of this morning.
When I was on the south side of Red, I was shooting at some players from a good position. They didn't know where I was because they started shooting at another bunker that was far away from me. I just occurred to me that "other bunker" was the dead box! I'm sure they were just shooting where they though I was and did not realize it was the dead zone through all the trees and brush.
Maybe get some blaze orange paint and clearly mark or better yet fully paint the carpet. I guess I am just saying make the dead box more "obvious". It will help dead players find it and keep live players from shooting at it.

These are all good suggestions.
Keep the coming.
